Leaving a bequest to a not-for-profit organisation is one of the most generous decisions you can make in your lifetime. It offers you the opportunity to keep supporting issues that you believe are important to the aged care community.
There are a variety of ways to leave a bequest in your Will to Good Shepherd Lodge Ltd.
We recommend you consult a legal advisor, such as a solicitor, or utilise a digital Will service such as Willed to ensure your Will is valid according to the laws in your State or Territory (please refer to the section below for more details).
Every bequest creates a legacy that will help the aged care service improve residential care and create long-term change in aged care residents’ lives and the lives of their family. A gift is a financial donation that you intend to make after your death.
Although there are different types of bequests, they all effectively refer to the concept of a legacy gift. Any size of bequest — or legacy gift — is an incredible way to change someone’s life for the better. A bequest can involve a particular dollar amount, a specific item, or a percentage of your estate (a term which refers to your total assets).
Before you start to think about the type of bequest that best suits you, it’s important to consider your wishes. What is important to you? How would you like to be remembered? Is there a special way to honour your legacy, or support something that has been meaningful throughout your life? We’re committed to honouring your wishes in a way that reflects your life story.
Gifts in Wills have left an important legacy at Good Shepherd Ltd. They have allowed us to refurbish our nursing homes, create engaged and connected communities and plan for our future.
